Pink Eye!

Diego has pink eye! Where on earth could he have picked this up? I have NO idea~! We started noticing goup in his eye yesterday and called the doctor, I took him in this morning and he has pink eye. I can't believe our poor little guy has already been sick twice now...fortunately the sickness does not affect his happy personality!

Fallen off the Blog Wagon ALREADY!

I had great intentions of keeping this blog furiously up to date with the new things Diego does, but I've already fallen off the wagon! Not a whole lot of changes, but a few firsts over the last few weeks...

We visited Rachel's house for dinner and had delicious enchilada's and Rachel and Sawyer played with Diego...

Then we visited Ona's house for dinner a few nights later and had...delicious enchiladas!!!

We also visited Aunt Erica's house for the first time! I forgot to take pictures!

Diego and I went to MOPS for the first time since he was born and also went to lunch afterwards with Ona at Applebees...two firsts for him in 1 day! His first MOPS meeting and his first lunch out at a restaraunt...he even ate while we were there!!

He also went for his first stroller ride, and LOVED it! I am planning on walking every chance I get, when the weather is nice of course!

Diego met Great Great Grandma Pearlee for the first time this last week, as well. How many of us have Great Great Grandmothers??

Diego has also begun to show interest in toys, one of his favorites is the Kick and Crawl Aquarium from Rachel!

Sleepy Head

I don't expect this to happen every night, BUT, Diego slept from 10 pm until 5:15 am last night! I, of course, woke up at 3:30 waiting for him to wake up, then panicking when he didn't. Don't ask me why, but I even contemplated waking him up! He slept so good and after he ate at 5:15 he even went back to sleep for an hour so Momma could get a little more sleep!

Feeding the baby while Grocery Shopping

We went grocery shopping a few days ago, to Costco and Wal-mart. Diego slept most of the time, but when we went into Wal-mart he woke up crying. I knew he was hungry and tried to feed him in his carseat while we wandered through the store, but he just didn't like it. So, I took him out of his seat and carried him to feed him. So many people commented on how cute he is! It's not that easy to feed a baby a bottle and walk around the grocery store! He was definitely happy though, and obviously relaxed because as we walked around he filled his diaper LOUDLY! LOL! With a little food and a diaper change, he went right back to sleep!

Sick!

My little man is sick, already! Diego started coughing and sounding a little stuffed up a few days ago and I started to worry. I called the pediatrician on Tuesday morning, because his cough sounded a little phlegmy (is that a word?). I took him in and they told me he is ok, but he does have some little virus, and unfortunately, virus = they can't do much for him. The good news, he hasn't had a fever! Do you know how heart wrenching it is to hear a 1 month old baby cough? It's terrible! I just keep wishing it had been me who got sick and not him. Eddie had the same symptoms about a week ago, so I'm sure this is where Diego got it. We bought a humidifier and used it last night, and it seemed to really help him. So, hopefully with some extra rest and the humidifier he'll be feeling better in no time!

We Survived

This is a little late, but last week Eddie had to leave Diego and I and attend in-service training work for 5 days. I was a little nervous about being "on my own" but it turned out great! I wasn't actually on my own...my WONDERFUL Aunt Tonia took excellent care of Diego and I. She came and visited every day, bearing gifts and good food, she is so thoughtful and caring. She has three kids of her own and leads a very busy life, but somehow made time to come and visit us every day. We miss her this week! Rachel came and visited two mornings, too. She would have been over every day, but she got sick early in the week. :( She also came bearing gifts and wonderful food...who could ask for more from a visitor right? She made wonderful homemade macaroni and cheese and yummy banana bread!

Eddie missed our precious little guy though, he called every day to see how things were going! Each evening when he came home, the first thing he did was greet Diego, it was so sweet!

He Smiled at Me!

Yesterday, for the first time, Diego smiled at me while he was awake! He's been smiling in his sleep since birth, but yesterday while I was changing his diaper and talking to him he smiled!! I know its involuntary, but it was just so darn cute! Some friends of ours were over last night and just as they were leaving I was taking to Diego again while he was on my lap and he smiled really big and they were able to see it too! I haven't been able to capture it on camera yet, but hope to very soon!
